The Belleville Area offers a variety of
shopping centers. Lakewood
Shopping Center on Rawsonville Road has K-Mart as its anchor with
Dunham’s Sporting Goods on one end and many smaller shops in
between. On Belleville
Road shoppers enjoy Belleville Square, Van Buren Plaza, Meijer and a
Wal-Mart.
The heart and soul of any community is a
bustling downtown section. The
central business district is alive, filled with diverse restaurants,
unique shops and service enterprises.
The community enthusiastically supports and patronizes the
shopping district and its merchants.
Civic pride bursts throughout the year with popular events
like the National Strawberry Festival, a Farmer’s Market, Central
Business Community sponsored events on Easter, Halloween, and
Christmas, and the annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the
Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce.
South of the central business district is Belle
Plaza where you will find the Secretary of State Office.
Sumpter Township also offers a variety of businesses and a
Farmer’s Market.
Belleville is within 30 miles from a number of
large shopping malls: Briarwood
Shopping Center and Arborland in Ann Arbor, Westland Shopping Center
in Westland, Fairlane Shopping Center in Dearborn, and Southgate
Shopping Center in Taylor.
